Ms. Smriti Gulati

Smriti Gulati has acquired post graduate degree in Bioinformatics from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and graduate degree in Bioinformatics (Honors) from Punjab University, Chandigarh. She has acquired her expertise in the field of research through her college level dissertations, which made her to delve into projects involving combination of Life sciences and Information technology. Apart from that she has worked as a Lecturer in Bioinformatics Dept. (at HMV College, Jalandhar) for a short duration.
Prior to her joining, she has done Post graduate diploma in Clinical Research from Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Delhi and internship for a period of three months at SANCD, as part of the curriculum. During her internship, she was involved in the various activities like: Initial steps in Epidemiological data management (Data entry, coding of variables and checking probable errors), Data analysis using STATA (handling large cumbersome datasets) and Quality assessment for large genetic datasets using Genome studio software.
She is currently based at SANCD where her major responsibilities will include: Conducting analyses of primary and secondary data, data cleaning and management of data sets and literature review, writing scientific papers, reports etc.
In future she wishes to work in the field of Epidemiological research to pursue her interests, learn something new, and hone her problem-solving skills and also to challenge herself in new ways.
